Brookfield Weather: Rain to Snow on Saturday

Weather Alert

Initial precip arrives as plain rain late tonight, but expect temperatures to fall quickly by midday, forcing a change over to snow. This snow will be moderate to heavy, and will likely stick to pavements despite current warmth. There can be initial melt back, but it may not take too long for pavements to accumulate given the 1" per hour rates that build in.

A good portion of the snow should fall by 2-3 PM, with snow intensity easing and perhaps turning intermittent into the late afternoon. Behind the main storm, occasional flurries and snow showers are likely, and along with blowing/drifting snow, some recoverings are quite possible well into the night. FInal accumulations will be dictated by how quickly it changes to snow, with western areas likely going first, and having the highest chance to see 3" or more. Expect Windy conditions during the storm of wind gusts 35-50mph This may cause downed limbs and trees that may cause power outages.

Please be careful when driving, walking/ running during this time. Visit Mayor Pete Bass on Facebook for updates.
