New Milford Raises the Flag for Autism Awareness Week

Have you noticed the colorful flag hanging on the flagpole outside of New Milford Town Hall?

The flag was raised this week in honor of Autism Awareness Week (March 29-April 4) a yearly event that is planned around Autism Acceptance Day on the 2nd of April.

According to the National Autism Association, Autism is a lifelong developmental condition, which affects how people communicate and relate to the world around them. This can affect how Autistic people communicate with others, and also how they deal with sights, sounds, and changes in their environment. Learn more here.

Thank you to the Town of New Milford and Mayor Pete Bass for raising the flag and raising awareness this week.
