ACT of Connecticut will be casting a small children's ensemble for the theater's October 2018 production of "EVITA" to appear alongside the professional Broadway cast! The Children's Audition Call is for non-equity performers ages 8-14. The children’s cast will rotate, with each child performing one (or two) weeks of the show’s 4-6 week run.
The show runs October 4 through October 28 (with a possible 2-week extension). Each week of the show’s run includes a Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday matinee, Saturday night, and Sunday matinee performance.
Children auditioning for this role must be available for all of these performance days (with each child’s individual performance week(s) being determined after casting).
Children perform in one scene (called “Santa Evita”) alongside Eva Peron, and must sing very well. Parents will supply costumes.
Rehearsals are scheduled for:

Wednesday, September 12: 6-7pm (1 hour music rehearsal with Children’s Ensemble Director, at her studio)

Wednesday, September 26: 6-7pm (1 hour music rehearsal with Children’s Ensemble Director, at her studio)
Monday, October 1: 6:30-8:00pm at ACT
Tuesday, October 2: 6-9pm at ACT
Wednesday, October 3: 12:30-9:30pm (with parent pick- up for dinner break, TBD, and return for an evening session at 6:30pm)
Children must be available for every rehearsal to be cast in the show.
Please know that while the upper age limit is 14, the director prefers a young-looking children’s ensemble for Evita.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, July 29 and Wednesday, August 22, by appointment only, from 10am to 4pm at the ACT of Connecticut Theatre at 36 Old Quarry Road in Ridgefield, CT. Children should come prepared with a memorized, short song selection (with accompanying sheet music), showcasing vocal range and personality.
