Join Wooster School for a 3 v 3 Lacrosse Jamboree on April 18

Wooster School's Center for Social Impact and Root Hog Lacrosse present the Medicine Games on Thursday, April 18, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. The 3 v 3 lacrosse jamboree is for boys and girls of all ages.  All money raised will go to the charities as designated by each participating team. Anyone interested in participating should sign up via the Team Registration page.

On the Iroquois National team page it says, "Lacrosse was a gift to us from the Creator, to be played for his enjoyment and as a medicine game for healing the people."  We want to present an opportunity for players to honor the roots of the game and play for something bigger than themselves.

Registration Fee:  None. Whatever your team brings will be donated to the organization you selected. Team managers can collect their "dues" prior to the event and check in at the registration table where the money will be put in an envelope, sealed, and mailed to the designated organization. We suggest team managers take pride in whatever money they raise and know they are making a difference. Wooster donates the fields and we have our other costs covered so all of the money your team raises will directly benefit the the organization your team chooses to play for. Everyone who wants to play should.

Rules:  We play on 3 x 3 goals and teams consist of 3 players on a small field at a time. When on defense, one player will hop in the goal, thus giving a man-up situation to the offense. There is no body or stick checking, only bottom hand lifting. Helmets, mouth guard, gloves, stick are required (shoulder pads and arm pads optional). We play with a softball, but even so shots on goal need to be controlled. Disputes are resolved with rock paper scissors. Games last 7 minutes and then winners will move one direction and losers another.

Before each game, if the teams have not played each other, they will briefly explain what organization they are playing for today.

Last year over $3,000 was raised that went to the following organizations: US Lacrosse, Special Olympics, National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Wounded Warriors, Family & Children's Aid, Operation Smile, Autism Speaks, ALSA, Redding Food Pantry, Root Hog Lacrosse, Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Sports Academy, Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation, and Catch A Lift Fund.

If you have any questions, please email Bill Rexford, Wooster School Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach or call 203-231-3435.
