Beloved Litchfield County Seafood Restaurant and Market Opens for the Season!

West Shore Seafood is now OPEN!

West Shore Seafood has earned a reputation over the years as the go-to destination for fried shrimp baskets, lobster rolls, grilled fish, and everything in between that’s dipped in tartar sauce, enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon, and comes with a side of fries-n-slaw.

Owner Susie Pregno’s seasonal seafood oasis opened in June of 2007 in an unassuming little ranch-style storefront that dates back to the 1960s, formerly called the Ban-Mor Restaurant, due to its footing on the Bantam/Morris town line in Litchfield County. Over the past 15 years, West Shore Seafood has expanded its menu, added a market that includes fresh seafood, artisan food products, coastal-themed gift items and décor, and this year has added catering services with the addition of Executive Chef Rob Thompson.

The menu continues to evolve and has been infused with more landlubber items, homemade desserts, and a more extensive selection of seafood preparations. Executive Chef Rob Thompson, a Johnson and Wales culinary graduate, brings over 20 years of experience to the West Shore Seafood kitchen. Past kitchen cred includes Executive Chef positions throughout Connecticut at The White Horse in Marble Dale, Bank Street Tavern in New Milford, and the Compass Group (FLIK Hospitality) in Washington. Extensive back-of-the-house industry experience with well-known food purveyor SYSCO rounds out this innovative chef’s passion for the industry.

Menu highlights start with a classic and creamy New England Clam Chowder, house-smoked fish dip, pan-fried crab cakes with roasted red pepper remoulade, Cajun popcorn fish with lemon dill dipping sauce, and house-brined and mesquite smoked chicken wings. Fish house favorites run the gamut from a buttery warm or cold mayo lobster roll and grilled Faroe Island salmon BLT, to a shrimp or oyster po boy and a rodeo chicken sandwich topped with house fried onion strings, smoked gouda and creamy chipotle sauce. Land and sea Baja style tacos, hearty salads, and fried seafood platters share the stage with market fresh fish, baked or grilled, as seen with the swordfish steak grilled in a Dijon herb marinade and the wild cod filet baked with a garlic butter crumb topping.

West Shore Seafood’s popular outdoor-only seating accommodates 50+ under the (heated) tent and has additional picnic table seating on the grass that seats approximately 60 guests. Guests order and pickup from the counter. Food truck and catering services are available!
