New Milford man arrested for Burglary of a Dover residence

On January 11, 2018, the New York State Police from SP Dover Plains arrested Brent A. Latham, age 36, of New Milford, CT, for Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony.

Troopers began investigating a burglary to a residence on Weil Road in the Town of Dover in August of 2016 where two metal detectors, a Husqvarna chainsaw, and a Ruger .357 handgun were reported stolen.  During the course of the investigation, several leads were followed including the examination of a piece of a torn latex glove that had been recovered at the scene.  Lab analysis of the latex glove revealed a DNA match to suspect Brent Latham who was incarcerated in the State of Connecticut.

As a result of the investigation, Brent Latham was arrested in the State of Connecticut as a Fugitive of Justice and was subsequently extradited to New York State.

Latham was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Abrams of the Town of Dover Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
