New Milford Police Department make 20 arrests for drunk driving during "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" initiative

Drunk Driving is the most frequently committed crime in the nation. In 2017, 15 percent of all drivers involved in fatal crashes during the week were drunk, compared to 28 percent on weekends.

The New Milford Police Department has focused enforcement efforts on cracking down on drunk driving. During the 2019 national enforcement mobilization campaign "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” August 14 to September 2, 2019, the New Milford Police Department made 20 arrests for drunk driving.

Chief Cerruto commends his officers for their excellent work and dedication to keeping our community safe! “Everyone knows that they shouldn’t drink and drive. Those who still do it will be arrested”.
