New Milford Police Department is a proud participant and supporter of Blue Envelopes for Drivers on the Autism spectrum and Green Envelopes Deaf/Hearing Impaired Drivers. This is a tool that improves interaction and communication between officers and respective drivers during traffic stops.
The Blue Envelope is meant to hold a driver's license, registration and insurance card, and it includes tips on how the driver and officer can best respond to one another during a traffic stop. Drivers can keep the envelope in the glove box or visor so they can easily find it and hand it to a police officer.
The envelopes are available at the DMV and New Milford PD.
