Thanksgiving Traffic Stats Compiled by State Police

Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement by State Troopers began at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
 
Since then, the Connecticut State Police has responded to approximately 2,862 Calls For Service. Of those calls, 153 were reported as motor vehicle collisions. There was (1) one fatal motor vehicle accident which resulted in (2) two fatalities.
 
Troopers also responded to a total of 106 motorist assists and issued 179 citations for various hazardous driving behaviors. Thus far, Troopers arrested 9 individuals for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
 
Connecticut State Troopers continue to encourage Connecticut motorists to contact 9-1-1 if you observe suspected drunk drivers and suspected reckless drivers, as this is a true emergency.
