Many of you know Sandy Hook resident Tim Haas. Among other things, he's President of the Chamber of Commerce, Grand Knight of the area's Knights of Columbus (a Catholic, international do-gooder group), and he runs an insurance and financial advising business in Sandy Hook Center.
Tim's also a family guy. Married to Anne since 1986, he is father to Andrew, 20, and Stephanie, 15. Sitting at his desk, he reflects, "The best decision I ever made was to marry Anne. She is my best friend for life, my soul mate...I love her." (Pretty sweet, huh?)
The Haas Agency isn't just in Sandy Hook—it's a family business, and Tim and his brothers, Paul and Peter, who are up near Hartford, serve consumers throughout Connecticut. Their dad got the biz started back in '53.
Tim's a man who likes to help folks, and insurance and investments are tricky stuff. He says, "business is about people---it's not just a bunch of numbers." Tim is often able to help by bolstering people's financial status and making sure they've got proper coverage for the best price. He uses his expertise to shop around, as he represents over a dozen carriers. Often, his customers become his friends.
