Sandy Hook resident Kim Charles is a talented lady and one of the highlights of each week's Farmers' Market, held on Tuesdays at Fairfield Hills from 2-6.
Kim is the owner of cider mill designs. She creates and sells fabulous and original plantings in clever containers, often purchased from the Elephant's Trunk. (Click for pics.) With a background in fashion, her focus is on pulling colors and textures together for an organic, chic look.
Kim also helps folks beautify their own outdoor living spaces. As a Certified Master Gardener, she's got what it takes to spiff things up year round. She plants seasonal containers for clients on site, designs "pocket gardens" in those tough to fill nooks and consults folks about garden renovations and improvements.
With two kids, a cocker spaniel, a 300 year old home which was once a cider mill, and, oh, yea, a part-time job marketing for Stone Farm, Kim has also been a volunteer at Newtown's Victory Garden. Her enthusiasm and energy are contagious, so stop by and say hi at this week's Farmer's Market or email her at organicgreenchick@gmail.com. You'll see why her motto is "plant, love, grow."
