NOV. 15 – 17 PLAY THERAPY CONFERENCE: The WCSU Department of Education and Educational Psychology will host a three-day Play Therapy Conference, "Traumatized Children: Play Therapy Tools to Sow the Seeds of Healing," from Friday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Ballroom of the Campus Center on the university's Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Licensed psychologist Dr. Athena A. Drewes, director of clinical training at Astor Services for Children & Families in New York, will be the featured speaker. Drewes has authored and co-edited seven books about play therapy. Her treatment specialization is children in schools and foster care, trauma, sexual abuse and attachment issues. Qi is the author of more than a dozen books, including fiction, nonfiction and literary translation. His latest book is "Western Literature in China and the Translation of a Nation." DEC. 2 CONFERENCE: Professor of Political Science Dr. Chris Kukk will be a participant in the inaugural initiative of the Ana Grace Project, "Love Wins: Promoting Love, Connection and Community for Every Child and Family."
