On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Sandy Hook Promise will host the “Promise Champions” Gala to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of Sandy Hook Promise and to celebrate the successes of the organization’s educational programs for youth violence prevention and policy initiatives to prevent gun violence. The gala is co-chaired by Sens. Charles Schumer, Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Jahana Hayes.

Since its founding, more than 21 million youth and adults have participated in Sandy Hook Promise’s “Know the Signs” programs in schools and youth organizations nationwide. To date, at least 15 credible school shootings have been averted and nearly 500 young lives have been saved from suicide. Additionally, Sandy Hook Promise has developed innovative public policies, such as the “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act,” to promote responsible gun ownership and prevent gun violence.
