The Amber Room Run Expects Record Crowd of Nearly 600 Runners Today

Danbury, CT – The annual Amber Room Run from the Sun 5K, hosted by The Amber Room Colonnade, takes place today at 6:30 p.m.  A record crowd of nearly 600 runners and walkers are expected to participate in today’s event! Amber Room Run from the Sun benefits Ann’s Place.  To take your participation to the next level, you can register as an individual or team fundraiser and every dollar raised will fund free services for local families touched by cancer. The 5K course runs from The Amber Room Colonnade to Candlewood Lake and back. The course passes scenic water views, stately homes, and old lake communities. The first 550 entrants receive tech tees. After the race, all participants are invited to a cookout featuring an outdoor barbeque, refreshments, adult beverages for 21+, DJ, an awards ceremony and more.

Doug Polistena, Amber Room General Manager, states, “We are honored and proud to have worked together with the community businesses for the last decade for this annual 5K race. We are excited to welcome runners and walkers back to the race. We always look forward to seeing everyone participate in support of Ann’s Place.”

Ann’s Place provides compassionate care to people whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer.  All counseling, support groups, workshops and wellness programs are offered free of charge.

"We are so grateful to the fundraising teams who bring such compassion and energy to this 5K", remarked Shannon Cobb, President and CEO of Ann's Place. " It means so much to our families to know the community is taking care of them during this very difficult time!"
