Keir Dullea in "Butcher's Cabin" at Stray Kats on Jan 14

Actor Keir Dullea, perhaps best known for his role as Dave Bowman in Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey", will appear in a staged reading of "Butcher's Cabin", a new play by award-winning playwright Kent R. Brown.

Stray Kats Theatre Company is Newtown's first professional theatre company, currently offering staged readings of contemporary classics and new works as it continues to build an audience and save for full productions in the near future.

It's mission is to offer compelling works geared toward an adult audience. Each evening includes a post-play discussion as well as coffee and dessert provided by Andrea's Pastry Shop. "Butcher's Cabin" tells the story of Amos Butcher, an elderly man who has been given compassionate release from prison for a double homicide and returns to his boyhood home to make peace with his past before he dies.

The event takes place on January 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown.

Tickets are $25 when purchased in advance at http://www.straykatstheatrecompany.org/Performances.html or by calling 203-514-2221.

Tickets are $30 at the door.
