Many of us are curious about the work being done on Oakview Field, right across from Exit 11. Here's the scoop:
The goal is to make what was once an unlevel field of ruts, bumps, hills and valleys into a useable multi-purpose sports area.
After plenty of earth moving, sweat, calculations, and planning, the field is looking lush and green. There are dwarf box hedging plants along Wasserman Way for aesthetics and to provide a sound barrier.
This week, Parks and Rec was installing a three-inch conduit to feed power to an irrigation system, which will protect the field for years to come. The plan is that the entire project will be complete in time for fall sports.
There's been some great teamwork to create this field of dreams for all to enjoy.
