Support the Newtown Foundation on May 20 at Bernard's, a few seats still available!

Please join your friends and raise a glass for the Newtown Foundation at Bernard's Restaurant on Sunday, May 20th at 6:00pm (menu attached).

The Newtown Foundation is the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance. It is a Connecticut-based, all-volunteer, non-profit organization formed in the wake of the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 20 students and six educators were shot to death in December of 2012. The Foundation’s mission: providing comfort, education, scholarship and other support to people and communities - affected by, or dealing with the aftermath of, gun violence; and helping lead the way toward positive changes in American culture.

The proceeds from this event will help fund two critical activities organized by the Newtown Foundation:

1. The Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence brings together each December in Washington, DC, individuals and groups from across the country to remember and honor those who’ve fallen victim to gun violence, and to commit to putting an end to this senseless national epidemic.

2. Swords into Plowshares seeks to turn weapons of violence into tools of life, and growth. Guns collected in police-department “buy-back” programs are melted down by a local artist and rendered useless as weapons. The remnants are then converted into gardening tools which will be used to plant community gardens.

To reserve your seats for the Wine Tasting Dinner, please call Bernard’s Restaurant at 203 438-8282.

A very special thank you to Bernard's and 109 Cheese & Wine for sponsoring this fundraiser.
