The Newtown Police Department has a proud and long standing tradition of supporting Special Olympics athletes and programs.  Many Newtown students with disabilities participate through our Town's Unified Sports programs, and other events.  You may have even seen our Unified Sports athletes escorting the Special Olympics torch down Church Hill Rd in the final stretch of the annual law enforcement torch run.
