"Peter and the Starcatcher" is based on the 2004 novel "Peter and the Starcatchersby Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, adapted for the stage by Rick Elice and serves as a prequel to J. M. Barrie's "Peter and Wendy ("Peter Pan"). The play provides a humorous backstory for the beloved character of Peter Pan and his arch nemesis Captain Hook. In the opening, audiences will be met by an orphaned child on the high seas named Boy. His sad and lonely world is turned upside down when he meets Molly - the daughter of famous Starcatcher Lord Astor. She is on a mission to save the world and protect a treasure trunk filled with magical starstuff from getting into the evil hands of Black Stache. As they travel aboard the Neverland ship, Molly and Boy learn about love and friendship and forge an unbreakable bond.

WCSU Professor of Theatre Arts Pam McDaniel, who directs the production, said, "Set your sails for excitement and magic that you'll never forget. 'Peter and the Starcatcher' is a story filled with heart, humor and harrowing adventures that follow the boy who never grew up, his fearsome pirate foe and a cast of colorful characters who join in on the journey."
