Following a highly successful West Coast run, Parsonsfield and Sawyer Fredericks come to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, November 4 at 8pm, part of Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer-Songwriter Series and Bandsintown Emerging Artist Series. Parsonsfield are folk rock favorites praised for making “the most jubilant and danceable indie roots music this side of the Carolinas” (NPR) and Sawyer Fredericks is a 19-year old singer-songwriter and Season 8 winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” known for his beyond-his-years lyrics and melodies, raw, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances. Visit Southwest Cafe (109 Danbury Road, Ridgefield) for dinner before the show and enjoy a complimentary margarita with your entree when you show your ticket! Media partner for this event is WPKN, The Real Alternative.
Parsonsfield hit the ground running this year with a 92-city trek across North America in support of their latest release, WE (2018 Signature Sounds), their 4th with the label. WE pushes the boundaries of the band’s harmony-driven, grassroots origins creating their own distinctive Americana, with as much influence from 90’s rock and 70’s R&B as the folk-pop material that fans have come to expect. The album comes on the heels of Parsonsfield’s acclaimed release, Blooming Through The Black (2016 Signature Sounds). No Depression, the journal of Roots Music, says of We, “Massachusetts-based quintet Parsonsfield put forth a mature reflection on the emotional turbulence life places at our feet in their new EP, WE.” WNYC Radio says "...their music draws on the string bands of Appalachia. At least in part. They also like to crank up the amps and pin your ears to the wall.” On stage, they trade instruments, share microphones, and shoot each other big grins. They sing in tight multi-part harmonies, their voices blending like they've been doing this together all their lives.
