Newtown to See Possible Wind Chills of 15 to 25 Degrees Below Zero Thursday Morning

Light Snow Possible Tuesday into Tuesday Night in Newtown Followed by Arctic Air Blast early Thursday morning bringing dangerous near zero temperatures. Wind chills of 15 to 25 degrees below zero are possible

The National Weather Service is predicting a strong frontal system will move into Newtown during the day and into the evening on Tuesday, January 29. Early Thursday morning temperatures are expected to plummet below zero.

Precipitation is expected to develop during the late morning hours Tuesday and continue into Tuesday night with snow totals of 2 to 5 Inches across Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Northern Westchester and Fairfield and Western Passaic and Bergen Counties. One to 2 inches are expected across the remainder of interior southern CT and northeast New Jersey and most of New York City, with an inch or less across Long Island and coastal CT.

Arctic Air will follow the Tuesday’s precipitation with wind chills of  -15 to -25 on Wednesday, January 30.
