Pilobolus Plans a Repeat Summer Appearance at Aquila’s Nest Vineyards in Newtown

Pilobolus is pleased to announce that Aquila’s Nest Vineyards has invited the rebellious modern dance company to return for a second annual summer performance being held this year on Monday, August 14.

“We are thrilled that Pilobolus is able to take a break from their national tour and that one of their Connecticut performances will once again be held here at Aquila’s Nest,” expressed Neviana Zhgaba, owner of the Newtown vineyard. “I’m sure everyone who attended last year will want to again and we look forward to greeting attendees that are new to our vineyard or new to Pilobolus as well.”

The family-friendly afternoon event begins at 6:00 p.m. with Pilobolus’s Education Director, Emily Kent offering an introduction to Connecting with Balance class. Connecting with Balance is a program that aims to help participants–with an emphasis on seniors–improve one of the most important aspects of long-term wellness: Balance. You are never too young to start working on this.

The Pilobolus dancers will perform their acclaimed original dance entitled, Branches immediately following. Both offerings will take place outside in the natural environment.
“We were so happy to be invited back for a 2023 performance at Aquila’s Nest,” said Renée Jaworski, Executive and Co-Artistic Director of Pilobolus. “Our Company appreciates any opportunity to perform outdoors and the setting at the Vineyard is especially picturesque. We hope to see many of our Connecticut and New York fans and followers there and that a summer Pilobolus performance at Aquila’s Nest will become a summertime tradition in western Connecticut.”
