Storm Restoration Update

Eversource presently has more than 20 crews working in town. The focus is still on larger circuits. Crews are currently working in the areas of Brushy Hill, Hattertown, Bridle Path, Mount Pleasant and Dogwood Terrace. Crews are on route to the areas of Lakeview Terrace, Walnut Tree, Orange Pippin, Elm, Little Brook Lane and Pine Tree Hill Road.

Overnight, total outages dropped from 50% to roughly 40%. We expect additional progress through the day today.

Dumpsters are available for the disposal of spoiled food at Newtown High School and the Hawleyville and Dodgingtown Fire Departments. Bottled water is available at all five fire departments in addition to their exterior water faucets.

The Transfer Station will be open tomorrow from 7a to 6p and on Sunday from 7am to 3pm.

Newtown’s First Selectman and the Emergency Management Office continue to urge residents to be safe and stay informed.

Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 am to 10 pm. Enter at Main Entrance.
