Newtown Transfer Station reopened after investigation of hazardous material
The investigation at the Transfer Station has been resolved. Earlier this afternoon Transfer Station staff discovered an unexploded military ordinance so the proper authorities were called in to investigate. The ordinance proved to be inert.
The Transfer Station will resume regular operations tomorrow, Saturday, June 1 from 7am to 3pm.
