SafeWise, a digital company specializing in home security and safety, recently announced the 2020 Top 20 Safest Cities in Connecticut, based on Uniform Crime Report (UCI) from the FBI.
Following Ridgefield at #1, Newtown leaps from #8 in 2019 to the second safest town in Connecticut in 2020! Greenwich comes in at #3.
According to SafeWise, Connecticut respondents to the 2020 State of Safety survey indicated slightly higher general concern about safety year over year and experience with crime nearly doubled. But the state’s concern about mass shootings (41%) is far above the national average of 28%.
SafeWise reports that 55% of the cities improved their rank this year, with Danbury making the biggest leap from 33 in 2019 to 19 in 2020.
