C.H. Booth Library Launches Refreshed Website

The C.H. Booth Library has unveiled a refreshed website at www.chboothlibrary.org. The updated website offers a variety of enhancements including faster access to the most frequently used resources and improvements to speed and design.

The site now features a cleaner and more contemporary design. The aesthetic enhancements allow for enhanced navigation to help patrons easily find the information they need.

Visitors to the site will instantly notice changes to layout and design, but will find the menus, navigation and search function similar except for speed – “It is significantly faster,” said Library Director Douglas Lord.

During the planning phases, patron and employee feedback was used to make improvements. Best practices were sought from across the library field and beyond, with a renewed focus on accessibility and user experience

“The main objective of this refresh was to improve usability, giving patrons easier access to the massive amount of digital content and updated community information that the library has curated,” said Olivia Scully, Information Technology Librarian at the library.

“Providing a convenient online home for the community is the idea,” said Amy Schumann, the library’s Head of Reference.

“There have been substantial changes in the way that patrons seek and retrieve content in the very recent past, and we decided now was the perfect time to highlight our resources to the community. Our goal is to provide a website that provides easy access to the wonderful, engaging content that we offer to the community for free  and to the multitude of other resources that support patrons,” said Information Technology Librarian Olivia Scully.

Visitors to the website can expect to see continued improvements as the library works to ensure that its digital branch remains a nimble response to the ongoing and future needs of the community.
