2nd Company Governor’s Horse Guard Looking For Riders to Join “Your Horses – Our Trails” Trail Ride Fundraising Event on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Calling all area horse riding enthusiast! The Friends of the 2nd Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) is seeking riders to participate in “Your Horse – Our Trails” fundraising trail ride scheduled for Sunday, October 16th, on the Horse Guard grounds, 4 Trades Lane, Newtown.

Members of the 2nd Company Governors Horse Guard (2GHG) will be on hand to welcome riders to participate in a beautiful trail ride among the Catherine Hubbard Sanctuary property, as well as pathways through the “enchanted forest”, a wooded area displaying colorful Fall foliage, trees, and running streams. Riders of all skill levels can enjoy a leisurely walk, trot, or canter along the beautiful fields and wooded trails (no water crosses). For those riders and horses wanting to test their riding skills and abilities, the day will include optional challenge course that will include a series of fun and exciting activities. Both the trail ride and challenge course are included in the registration donation.

Great prizes including gift cards to local businesses and gift baskets will be awarded to horse and riders holding top-three best timed rides.

The event starts at 8 a.m. and the last riders must head out on the trail by 11:30 a.m. The ride is 1 to 1 ½ hour depending on pace. Proof of current Coggins certificate must be presented at entry to event. Riders under the age of 18 years must be accompanied on the trail by an adult.

Suggested pre-event donation is $45.00, with same day registration at $55.00. Registration is available via Eventbrite 2ghg-22-ride.falleventbrite.com. Registration closes by October 9th. Questions regarding the event can be left on 2GHG voicemail (203) 270-6203.

The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) is an all-volunteer unit of the Organized State Militia.
