Newtown Resident Pens First Book, "Have You Seen a Dinosaur?"

Newtown resident and former U.S. Army Reservist, Matthew Beres has just released his first book, Have You Seen a Dinosaur?, an educational children’s picture book. The book’s illustrator is Catherine Rose Heller of Ridgefield.

Beres says, “It’s an honor to provide children an entertaining introduction to the world of science. It’s great that both children and their parents can share the joy of reading a book with such amazing, hilarious illustrations.”

Have You Seen a Dinosaur? is based off a song of the same name. “I wrote the song for a friend’s elementary class, and I’ve played it for children at a number of concerts and festivals. Children liked the tune so much, that I decided to write a book to go along with it,” explains Beres.

The interactive book provides additional black and white pictures for coloring activities. The sing-along song is available for download at CDBaby here. The full color illustrated book, is available both in hard copy and E-books, at Amazon and select local retailers, where books are sold.

Matthew Beres previously edited HamletHub Danbury and wrote for Danbury’s The Mercurial Magazine. He currently lives in Newtown CT, where he spends his time volunteering with Newtown Ambulance.
