Young Entrepreneurs Academy Now Accepting Applications!

Start as a student, finish as a CEO!

Middle and high school students can now apply to attend the Greater Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur’s Academy Class of 2019!

YEA! is a weekly program throughout the academic year that guides students through launching and running their own businesses or social movements. YEA! launched in this area last year with a class of 17 local students.

YEA! is open to all students in grades 6-12. While in the Academy, students will receive all the necessary tools to launch real, legal businesses. This includes access to experts such as attorneys, accountants, business mentors and graphic designers. Students will also have an audience with investors for start-up funding, and the opportunity to compete for college scholarships.

Applications can be submitted online by September 30th but the class is filling quickly and the selection process is competitive and on a rolling admission, so don’t delay.  Applications can be found online at www.yearidgefield.org and click on the apply now button.

YEA! classes will be held at Western CT State University Westside Campus from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesdays from mid-October to April.

Contact Bobbi Jo Beers at 203.733.7406 or email yearidgefield@gmail.com for more information about enrolling in YEA!

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a 501(C) 3 offering groundbreaking year-long classes that teach middle and high school students how to start and run their own businesses. Throughout the class, students develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors for startup funds, and launch and run their own, fully formed companies and social movements. The project-based program empowers students to take charge of their futures.

Founded in 2004 at the University of Rochester with support from the Kauffman Foundation, YEA! today serves thousands of students nationwide. In 2011, the United States Chamber of Commerce Foundation became a national sponsor and partner of the Academy to help celebrate the spirit of enterprise among today's youth and tomorrow's future leaders.
