Immaculate High School is proud to announce that Ian Fitzgerald ‘20 of Brookfield achieved a perfect score (800) on his SAT math section, and Hunter Kirkman ‘20 of Sandy Hook was named a semifinalist in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship program.
Ian is part of the elite one percent of the more than 2 million students who took the 2019 SAT to earn a perfect math score. Ian attributes his ability to master critical reasoning and analytical skills successfully from his experiences as a student in the school’s advanced honors and AP math and technology courses. The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States and is administered by the College Board, a not-for-profit organization that was formed to expand access to higher education.
Hunter is part of the one percent of high school juniors from 21,000 high schools in the United States who were semi-finalists selected based on a 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Corporation qualifying test. As an eligible finalist, he will complete the required application that includes their SAT or ACT scores, an essay and a letter of recommendation by a high school officials; if he becomes a finalist he would be eligible for various scholarships.
