While our town is dealing with a national crisis, it would be remiss of us not to share and remember with our community the recent passing of a truly great American hero and former Newtown First Selectman Joseph Borst Sr.
Joe was a life long resident of Newtown and never hesitated to serve his community any way he could, especially when it came to the service of our country. Joe served his country and community with honor, integrity, and selflessness.
Joe leaves behind a very loving and caring family that misses him deeply.
"They don't make men like Joe anymore and he will be truly and deeply missed by all of us. God bless Joe, may you rest in peace." The men and women of the Newtown Police Department.
