Newtown Dog License Registration through July 31st with No Late Fee!

Great news for Newtown dog owners! You have until July 31st to license your dog this year!

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 7II

Extension of the Start Date for Imposition of a Late Fee for Obtaining Dog Licenses from July 1, 2020 to August 1, 2020. Section 22-338(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes is modified to extend the start date for the imposition of a late fee for obtaining this year’s annual dog license from July 1, 2020 to August 1, 2020.

Currently, Town Offices are closed to the public but there are several ways to obtain a license:

By mail
Send a self-addressed stamped envelope with a check made out to the TOWN OF NEWTOWN
Mail to:  Town Clerk’s Office, 3 Primrose Street, Newtown, CT 06470

Drop Box
Located the North entrance of the Municipal Center

-Rabies certificate must be current
-Renewal of license only

The following documentation is required:
Copy of a current rabies certificate-if not already on file
Copy of spaying or neutering certificate -if first time dog is being licensed

Fees:
$8 - spayed/neutered dogs; $19 - unaltered dogs
