Newtown Native Jeffrey M. Seligmann, 78, has Died

Jeffrey M. Seligmann, 78, of Monsey, NY, formerly of Palmer, Alaska, grew up in Newtown, CT, died on Thursday, January 14, 2021, in Monsey, New York.

Mr. Seligmann was born in Brooklyn, NY, December 5, 1942, the son of the late Sidney and the late Rose (Halperin) Seligmann, and was raised in Newtown, CT where he attended Newtown schools and graduated from Newtown High School. He relocated from Newtown to Florida where he resided for many years before moving to Alaska, returning to reside in Rockland County, NY for the past eight years.

Mr. Seligmann enjoyed building and racing drag race cars. In his later years, he was a tour guide in Juneau, Alaska. He is survived by a sister, Janet (Seligmann) Weiss, and her husband Lewis of Mahwah, NJ.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at 12 noon, in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, 210 Gray’s Bridge Rd., Brookfield, CT. with Cantor Penny Kessler of the United Jewish Center of Danbury, officiating.
