Newtown Police place 472 American Flags on Department lawn to honor officers who lost their lives in 2021

On Sunday, May 15th Newtown Police Department celebrated National Law Enforcement Memorial Day during their first annual LEO Memorial ceremony.
 
Officers and family gathered in ceremonial observance and prayer for the event.
 
Newtown Police placed 472 flags on the lawn of the Police Department to honor the 472 Officers who lost their lives in 2021.
 
Newtown Police honored CSP TFC Eugene Kenneth Baron JR who lost his life battling cancer linked to his response to Ground Zero and CSP SGT Brian Mohl who lost his life during a flood. Both Officers will be added to the memorial wall this year.
 
Newtown Police also recognizes Newtown Officer Stephen A. Ketchum who lost his battle with cancer from his response to the events of 9/11.
