WW II veteran William Petrone receives his KIA brother Charles Petrone’s Bronze Star from Brigadier General Ralph F. Hedenberg, while Senator Richard Blumenthal and Newtown State Representative Mitch Bolinsky look on.  

Also awarded were the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, WW II Victory Medal, and Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medals. 

Charles Petrone was killed in France 1944 when he was 19 years-old.  

State Representatives Bolinsky and Marty Foncello presented the Connecticut Wartime Service Medal and Senator Blumenthal presented a flag which flew over the Capitol Building to William Petrone.
