Independent Living Day on Earth Day- April 22nd from 8:30-11:30 AM
In collaboration with Nunnawauk Meadows, NYFS will provide volunteers to help residents with spring projects.
Independent Living Day is a community-wide effort to assist seniors, veterans and disabled residents to continue to live safely and independently in their homes.
As part of NYFS’ continuum of care, Independent Living Day gives seniors an increased chance of living longer, healthier and more productive lives by receiving assistance with basic home upkeep, FREE of charge. In particular, this event focuses on providing the following:
Spreading Mulch
Planting Flowers
Raking Leaves
Organizing Closets & Cabinets
Cleaning Patios & Porches
Cleaning Patio Furniture
Washing Windows
Cleaning Refrigerators
Discarding Expired Food & Newspapers
And other Household Chores!
