The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum has organized two special performances inspired by artist Eva LeWitt’s current exhibition at the Museum, Untitled (Mesh A-J), a dance performance by Madeline Hollander on Thursday, March 12, and Sway, a music and visual performance by Carl Testa on Friday, April 17. Registration is required for both events at www.shop.aldrichart.org.
Madeline Hollander’s performance, Steps for “Untitled (Mesh A-J)” is a site-specific work created in response to Eva LeWitt’s installation Untitled (Mesh A-J). The choreography will present a series of ten movement sequences designed for three dancers. Visitors are invited to stay for the entire performance (total duration three hours) or experience a segment of it. The performance will be presented on Thursday, March 12 from 5 to 8 pm. Hollander is a New York-based artist whose work was included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Eva LeWitt’s exhibition Untitled (Mesh A-J) comprises a site-specific installation of nine layers of coated mesh forming interlacing moiré effects that swell and pulsate. This is the artist’s first solo museum exhibition and it will be on view at The Aldrich through April 26, 2020.
