C.H. Booth Library Service Updates

To minimize the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the library will remain closed to the public until further notice. However, we have recently begun the reintroduction of onsite services as follows:

Curbside service is available!

Use any of the library’s means of communication to ask for materials Monday through Friday 10 am  to 4 pm.
The best way is to use the Evergreen catalog with your library card.
You can text: 475-215-2754
You can call: 203-426-4533
You can chat right here on our website – just click “Ask A Librarian”
You can email: help@chboothlibrary.org

When your items have been retrieved, you will be contacted to set up a pickup time on our front lawn on Main Street at our tent.  Pickups are by appointment only Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  Thursdays we provide the service from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and we now do Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Please let us know if you require assistance or your items delivered to your trunk.

Returns

In order to safely receive returns, the Library has closed its book drops temporarily and set up drop off days & times.  Starting this week, these return times will be Tuesdays 12-4, Thursdays 3-7, and Saturdays 10-1. Come to the back parking lot and go to the POD of the day to drop off your items.  These returns days are dependent upon the weather, so if rain or thunderstorms are in the forecast, contact us first!

Please no donations at this time.

Remember, all of your library materials are automatically renewed for you until July 1, and no overdues will be charged. You have plenty of time! At this time donations are not being accepted.

All in-person library programs are cancelled, rescheduled, or postponed, through the end of July. This includes: story-times, lectures, book discussions, crafts, and any small gathering.

Our doors may be closed as we phase in services using this document as our guide. We have received a state certification, and continue to offer a wide variety of digital services, resources, and media, accessible 24/7 online.

NEW! Check out our new texting/messaging feature!  Click on the Ask a Librarian red logo in the bottom right of the screen, and we will either respond immediately (usually during regular office hours) or it will send an email to our help desk and we will get back to you.  If you are on the go, try texting us at  475-215-2754 if you have a brief question.

Check out our new Digital Branch   —with our ongoing and our new services organized for easy use!
