New COVID Protocol Eichler’s Cove Beach and Treadwell Pool User Information

Eichler’s Beach visitation information:

All members will need a parking permit to enter Eichler’s Cove.

All members will need to make a reservation on the Omnify reservation system:

(Instructions will be emailed to members, which have purchased a pool/beach pass, on how to make a reservation)

Members will make the reservation under the primary cardholder’s name

Upon arrival, members need to check in with the beach attendant where you will check in and will have a health screening.

Members will be assigned a space to occupy, for a two-hour visit.  We ask that you remain in that area for your visit unless you are swimming or leaving the beach.

We also ask that you wear a mask or have one available in the event that you cannot social distance.

Treadwell Pool Visitation Information:

Every member must make a reservation on the Omnify reservation system

(Instructions will be emailed to members, which have purchased a pool/beach pass on how to make a reservation)

Note: unlike Eichler’s Cove you will need to make the reservation for every family member attending the pool

You cannot bring a guest or anyone that is not on your membership.

Masks must be worn by adults and children over 13 unless swimming or rinsing off.  (We suggest bringing a baggie with your name on it to store your mask)

All members must arrive in their swimsuit

Upon arrival a health screen will be conducted before being directed to entering the locker room

All members will at that time be guided to the locker rooms within your family grouping

All members will be asked to use the hands free system to rinse off in the showers before entering the pool (swimsuits are worn for this)

Once finished in the locker room you will need your passes to check in your family member reservation on the pool deck.

If you need a life vest please request one upon check in.

We ask all members to follow the arrows located on the fence and do not stand in the walkways. Members will move clockwise around the pool.

Members will choose a space with a green dot to occupy during their visit, we ask that members do not visit other member’s occupied spaces.

Once your reservation has ended all members will be guided to exit through the locker room where you can rinse off (swimsuits are worn for this) but you are not permitted to shower or change.

These will be considered family locker rooms and patrons are to move through.   No seating or lockers will be available.

The Health and safety of our swimmers, staff and other patrons remains our highest priority.  Below you will find a summary of actions we are taking to help ensure we are lowering COVID-19 Risks as much as possible while also allowing our swimmers and patrons to enjoy the water.  We are:

-Promoting healthy hygiene practices, such as encouraging all staff patrons and swimmers to stay home if they are unwell, wash their hands frequently, cover coughs and sneezes, wearing cloth face coverings when not in the water.

-Increasing cleaning and disinfection, within our facilities by: cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, such as handrails, door handles, no touch shower and life vests.  Patrons must arrive in their swimsuits and will shower prior to entering the pool.

-Encouraging social distancing when possible by changing deck layouts and beach spaces to ensure patrons can remain 6 feet apart in standing and seating areas, providing lane lines and visual clues, staggering use of communal spaces, implementing a reservation system for patrons to accommodate the reduction in pool and beach capacity.

We have reduced the cost of pool and beach memberships this season due to the shortened season and limited use. Please visit  https://www.newtown-ct.gov/parks-recreation/pages/2020-eichlers-cove-bea... for more information on hours, and memberships and to purchase them.  If you are a Community Center Member with an active membership we also offer an all access pass!  If you have specific questions about the plan or COVID-19, please do not hesitate to call our office at 203-270-4340.  We look forward to seeing you.  Now, let’s dive in and have fun!!!
