Southport, CT - NFL Football’s Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the world, and also one of the biggest gambling opportunities as well. Senator Tony Hwang and CT Council for Problem Gambling Executive Director Diana Goode will hold a press conference to share the stunning data on the rise of gambling addiction and urge caution with compelling personal testimonials and supportive services against addiction.
“The expansion of gambling has brought financial benefits to the state, but at a cost that no one is talking about. Every day we hear about people’s lives in turmoil from gambling related harms. The state can and should do better at providing the necessary funding to ensuring people know about the resources for problem gambling and have access to treatment,” said Diana Goode – Executive Director, CT Council on Problem Gambling.
