Absentee ballots are available for Newtown's Budget Referendum

Budget Referendum-April 25, 2023

This absentee ballot is ONLY for use in a referendum authorized to be held with less than 3 weeks' notice. In such case, absentee ballots are to be made available within 4 business days after the questions to be voted on are finalized. (Please note: this application must be hand delivered as this absentee ballot cannot be mailed to you.)
There will be special absentee voting hours at the Town Clerk's Office on Saturday, April 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS may be applied for by any qualified voter unable to vote at the polls due to the following reasons:

  • My active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
  • My absence from my town of residence
  • Sickness
  • Physical disability
  • My religious tenets which forbid secular activity on the day of the election, primary or referendum
  • My duties as a primary, election or referendum official at a polling place other than my own during all of the hours of voting
