Fatal Accident in Newtown on May 30
CT State Police say that a vehicle driven by Gerard Mauskaph of Red Hook, NY pulled over to the right shoulder on a sweeping right curve on the I-84 E/B Exit 11 ramp. Mauskaph exited the vehicle.
A vehicle driven by Michael Vitti of Sandy Hook, CT struck both Mauskaph and his vehicle causing Mauskaph to sustain serious injuries. He was pronounced dead on scene by EMS personnel, police say.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Modzelewski’s.
This accident is under investigation.
