The Newtown Police Department will be reinstating our Child Safety Program. Once a month specially trained officers will assist caregivers with installing and checking car seats.
Residents can contact the dispatch center to make an appointment (203) 426-5841. Please have a clean vehicle, and limit the occupants to only the driver and child.
CT state law
Rear facing until 2 years of age and 30 lbs
Forward facing in a 5 point harness until at least 5 and 40 lbs
Booster until 8 and 60 lbs
