Learn About Community Resources at The Winsted Services Fair

When people are looking for assistance, whether the need be for healthcare, food, transportation or other need, they often don't know where to turn. The upcoming Winsted Services Fair can help.
A Winsted Services Fair will be held on Thursday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, in Greenwoods Hall room 128 at 119 North Main Street in Winsted. Twenty-eight local service providers and area organizations representing food and nutrition, health care, behavioral health, safety, transportation, older adults, and youth/children services will be available to share information and answer questions about their available resources. The fair is open to the public and is anticipated to be an annual event.
In October 2016, a group of people met to address the growing needs of the community, connect community partners, work in collaboration to avoid duplication, identify gaps in services and generate ideas to fill those gaps. As a result of the initial meeting, a group of over 60 individuals responded, formed the Caring for Our Community Coalition and recommended sponsoring a Winsted Services Fair.
