Foothills Offers Bereavement Program

The Hospice Program of Foothills Visiting Nurse and Home Care will offer a six-week bereavement support group, “The Path Through Grief" on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. starting March 27 at the Foothills office at 32 Union Street in Winsted.

The sessions, which are open to any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one, are designed to help survivors recognize, express and accept their feelings; to be assured that their grief is normal; to increase understanding of the grieving process; to help them recognize their strengths and to help in the development of a support system both within and outside the group.

The bereavement group will provide an opportunity to share experiences and ways of dealing with grief as well as a time to receive support from others who understand what it is like to lose a loved one.

The sessions will be facilitated by Martha Babbitt, Foothills Volunteer and Bereavement Manager. There is no charge to attend the group, but pre-registration is required.

Call Foothills VNA at (860) 379-8561 for more information or to register.
