Hunt Homegrown Plant Sale to Attract Gardeners

The David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village will host its annual Hunt Homegrown Plant Sale on the weekend of May 19 and 20from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.  Gift certificates are available now at the library and great for giving on Mother’s Day or for a green thumb’s birthday.  Falls Village’s growers and gardeners will provide a wide variety of vegetable plants, including all sorts of tomatoes, plus annuals, perennials, and house plants all grown by local gardeners and CSAs.

As volunteer organizer Ruth Giumarro likes to say, “gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes!”  A bake sale on Saturday will show off the skills of Falls Village’s talented bakers and the library’s famous Upstairs/Downstairs Book Sale will have a selection of gardening books, including a section of free bonus choice books, one for every $30 spent on plants and bake sale items.  All proceeds benefit the library.

David M. Hunt Library is located at 63 Main Street in Falls Village, CT.  For more information or to buy gift certificates, call the library at 860-824-7424 or visit huntlibrary, org
