National Day of Prayer Service
Second Congregational Church, Winsted
The Second Congregational Church of Winsted, 800 Main Street, Winsted, invites you to an Evening of Patriotic Prayer and Song in celebration of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
Every year, local, state, and federal observances are held from sunrise in Maine to sunset in Hawaii, uniting Americans from all socio-economic, political and ethnic backgrounds in prayer for our nation.
Please join us for an evening of Christian prayer and traditional hymns as we pray for the church, family, country, government, community, military, vets and emergency personnel.
