When people are looking for assistance, whether the need be for healthcare, food, transportation or other need, they often don't know where to turn. The upcoming Winsted Services Fair can help.
The Second Annual Winsted Services Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Northwestern CT Community College, in Greenwoods Hall, room 128, 119 North Main Street, Winsted. Thirty-eight local service providers and area organizations representing food and nutrition, health care, behavioral health, safety, transportation, older adults, youth/children, and general services will be available to share information and answer questions about their available resources. The fair is open to the public.
In October 2016, a group of people met to address the growing needs of the community, connect community partners, collaborate to avoid duplication, identify gaps in services and generate ideas to fill those gaps. Since the initial meeting, a group of over 60 individuals responded, forming Winsted’s Caring 4R Community Coalition, and recommended sponsoring a Winsted Services Fair. The first Services Fair was held in the spring of 2017 with representation from 38 local Winsted providers and organizations and approximately 100 attendees.
