The American Mural Project with Executive Director Amy Wynn

On Saturday, July 20 at 11 am, Noble Horizons welcomes Amy Wynn, Executive Director of the American Mural Project, who will offer an insider’s look at the largest indoor collaborative artwork in the world.  The mural is a tribute to American workers and highlights the productivity and ingenuity that has defined the country over the last century.   The mural, housed in two former mill buildings, is 120 feet long, 48 feet high, and up to ten feet deep.

Artist Ellen Griesedieck launched the project in 2002 and with the support of advisors and generous sponsors, including Paul Newman, Sandra Boynton, Newman’s Own, the Home Depot, Aetna, and Stanley Black & Decker, her celebration of the American worker will soon open to the general public.   More than 15,000 children and adults have helped create pieces of the mural, and an additional 30,000 from all 50 states are expected to help finish the project.

Ms. Wynn was the Director of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council for 15 years where she helped establish a thriving arts culture throughout the region.

Registration for Ms. Wynn’s free program is at www.noblehorizons.org or 860-435-9851.
