Norfolk Bids Farewell to Duncan Denny

Lifetime Norfolk resident, Duncan Denny, passed away at his home on June 19, 2018.  He was born June 20, 1927, in New Rochelle, NY, to Dorothy Duncan and Cary Freeman Denny.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ayreslea Rowland Denny, children:  Bea Tirrell (Charlie), Deirdre Denny, and Rowland Denny (Robin) and grandchildren: Carrere, Andrea, Henry (Robin E.), Amelia, and Reg.

A longtime mathematics educator and soccer coach, Duncan retired from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1989.  He served as a radar technician in the Azores in WWII.  He was raised as a Mason in Western Star Lodge, Norfolk and was a current member of St. Andrew's, Winsted.  

He served his community as an assistant scoutmaster, on the board of the Norfolk Historical Society, and participated in the annual Teens Against Polio talent show. He was a parishioner of Trinity Church, Torrington, and Church of the Transfiguration, Norfolk, where a memorial service will be held July 7 at 11 a.m.  Kenny Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
